編集者と飲んで話して盛り上がると、それ面白い！やりましょうとなることが多い。そういう案件が既にいくつかある。嬉しい話だ。でも僕の中での今1番の興味は『建築の分解』である。それは以下のようなことだ。 建築の物（もの）性が見直されている今、物としての行く末は「分解」だと思うのだ。リサイクル工場を二つも設計するとこの分解の過程をまざまざと見ることになる。そして分解が生成と同程度に重要なことだと気が付く。 また料理に建築を見立てる本を書いた時には料理に発酵があるなら建築にも発酵があるだろうと思ったりした。発酵と腐敗は紙一重である。一言で言えば双方分解である。 建築は想定外の分解を起こしてはいけない物ではあるが、うまく分解されることが役に立つこともあるし、壊れない程度に美しく歳をとるのは自然である。古い建築に感じ入るのはその美しい年の重なりに対してである。そして役目を終えた建築はそのまま自然に戻るというのも摂理である。 建築とは分解することと分解しないことの二つのベクトルに引き裂かれそうになりながら危ういバランスをとって存在する物なのである。
