チリカトリカ大学院の客員教授として招聘された。座学とスタジオを教える。荷造りしながら書類をよくよく見ると僕の座学は水曜日の連続２コマで選択科目。驚くのは単位が１０単位もある。渡航してしばらくリサーチトリップ。I was invited as a visiting professor at the Chilean Catholic University Graduate School. I will be teaching both classroom and studio classes. While packing, I looked closely at my documents and discovered that my classroom classes were two consecutive classes on Wednesdays, and were electives. What surprised me was that It had 10 credits. I went on a research trip for a while after arriving in Chile.

今週末神楽坂はお祭り。起ノ善も再開。

最初に予約していてくれたところが手違いでうまくいかず、別の場所を探してくれた。小さいけれどコンパクトで使いやすそう。大学にも近い。昔よく泊まっていたホテルのそばなので少しだけ土地勘もある。

チリの隣国アルゼンチンの親友ロベルト・ブスネリから連絡が来た。早いうちにブエノスアイレスの２つの大学での連続レクチャーを企画するので来てねということ、彼らもサンチアゴに来るので会おうと言うことが書いてある。アルゼンチン行く途中でパラグアイに寄って教え子パメラに会おう。ハビエルやソラノの新作があれば是非見たい。 行く前の原稿や雑務に追われ息苦しい日々が続いているが、行ってからの日々が見えて来た。I received a message from my good friend Roberto Busnelli in Argentina, Chile's neighboring country. He said he was planning to give consecutive lectures at two universities in Buenos Aires soon and asked me to come, and that he and his wife would be coming to Santiago to meet me. On the way to Argentina, I'll stop by Paraguay to see my former student Pamela. I'd love to see any new works by Javier or Solano. The days before I left were suffocating, as I was busy with manuscripts and miscellaneous tasks, but I'm starting to see what life will be like after I leave.

マドリド工科大学のマルタ准教授が理科大にてレクチャー。三宅一生デザインと世界の建築デザインの共通性がテーマ。三宅デザインのサスティナビリティに突っ込んだ話しだった。終わったら多くの学生が質問に教壇にきてなかなかいい会だった。暑いねって言ったらマドリドも暑いと言っていた。Associate Professor Malta of the Madrid Institute of Technology gave a lecture at Tokyo University of Science. The theme is the commonality between Miyake Issei's design and architectural design around the world. It was a story that focused on the sustainability of Miyake Design. Once finished, many students came to the podium to ask questions, which was a pretty good meeting. When I said it was hot, she said in Madrid it was hot too.

先日チリのスタジオの課題をズームで説明した。哲学的問いをベースとした、日本じゃあ出さないような思弁的課題である。ロランバルトの『共に生きる』が下敷きになっている。 そんな課題を学生が選択してくれるか半信半疑だった。しかし学生の評判はとてもよく、すぐに履修者は一杯になったとメールが来た。ラテンの人の思弁的思考は長い歴史の重みだなあと感じた。しかし実際どうなるかは今後報告していきます。 The other day I explained on Zoom about my assignments at a Chilean studio. It is a speculative issue based on philosophical questions that I would not assign in Japan. The basis is based on Rolanvalt's "Living Together." I was skeptical about whether the students would choose such a task. However, the students' reputation was very good and soon I received an email saying that the students had filled up. I felt that the speculative thinking of Latin people has a long history. However, I will report on what will actually happen in the future.

ペーパードライバー講習を受けた。約30年前に配偶者を乗せてアメリカ西海岸を南北に縦断した時以来。乗らない期間が長くても乗ってた期間が長ければすぐ戻ると先生がいっていた。僕も昔7-8年乗っていたので元に戻った。先生が神様みたいに優しくて助かった。I took a paper driver course. This is the first time since about 30 years ago, when I took my spouse on board, crossing the West Coast of America north and south. The teacher said that even if the period you were not riding for a long period of time, if the period you were riding for a long period of time, you would return immediately. I used to ride it for 7-8 years so it went back. The teacher was as kind as God and it was helpful.

チリ行きは僕にしては不安だらけ。短期のワークショップと違って長期にわたり少数の学生とコミュニケーションを取らないといけない。英語でうまく行くか？先日授業内容のプレゼンをしたけど、学生が選択してくれるだろうか？スタジオはチリの建築家と共同だがいつしかスペイン語になってしまわないか？語学の壁！I'm full of anxiety about going to Chile for me. Unlike short-term workshops, you have to communicate with a small number of students over the long term. Will English work well? I recently presented my class content, but will the students make a choice? The studio is collaborative with a Chilean architect, but will it eventually become Spanish? Language barrier!
