えっこれが大学と驚く18世紀の建物をコンバートしたのがカトリカ大建築、デザイン、アーバニズム学部の発祥部分。その中の教室で水曜日からの授業をする。幸い受講者は27人と多く、アクセプトするかと聞かれたがもちろんやります。建築だけの建物もありそこにオフィスを1部屋いただいた。これから仕事は半分そっちでやるかな。What? Is this university? This is the origin of the Catholic university, Faculty of Architecture, Design and Urbanism, which was the transformation of the surprising 18th century building . Classes will start from Wednesday in the classrooms among them. Fortunately, there were 27 participants, and I was asked if I would accept it, but of course I will do it. There is a building only for architecture, I was given one office there. I think I'll do half of my work there from now on.

サンチアゴ来て初めて晴れそうだ。嬉しい。そして今日から新学期。It looks like it will be sunny for the first time in Santiago. happy. And the new semester has started today.

卵買いに行ったら「taku」と声をかけたれた。またか！！！「会ったことあったっけ？」と聞くと「アルベルトだよ東京で会っただろう」と言われた。うーん会ったような気もするが、、、「先週来てたんだよな？知ってるよ」と言われた。配偶者にあなたは顔の識別能力が著しく低いと言われるがそうかもしれない。When I went to buy eggs, someone called out to me, "Taku." I asked, "Have we met before?" and they said, "It's Alberto. I think we met in Tokyo." Hmm, I think I might've met him, but then he said, "You were here last week, right? I know it." My spouse says I have a very poor ability to recognize faces, and that may be true.

左は去年マドリド行く時成田で買ったアディダスのガゼル。1年履いたらこうなった。同じ色のガゼルが欲しいと言ったら右の靴を出してきた。何用の靴と聞いたらテコンドだ。軽く、銀色の線がガゼルに近いのでもらうことにした。On the left is an Adidas gazelle I bought at Narita when I went to Madrid last year. This is what it turned out after wearing it for a year. When I told him I wanted a gazelle of the same color, he took out the shoes on the right. When I asked what shoes it was for, it was Taekwondo. I decided to take it because it is light and silver lines are closer to the gazelle.

僕が住むプロビデンシア地区はサンチアゴの比較的新しい地区。なのでモダニズム建築が林立する。新しいと言っても半世紀は経っている。左上は僕のアパート。The Providencia area where I live is a relatively new area in Santiago. That's why we see many modernism architecture . It's been half a century ago even if it's called new. The top left is my apartment.

10月末までここで暮らします。1963年にできたモダニズムアパートが上手にリノベされて25平米だけど狭さを感じない。I will live here until the end of October. The modernism apartment built in 1963 has been renovated and is 25 square meters, but it doesn't lte me feel small.

At the airport in Santiago, I was greeted by a friend of my best friend from Chile. He said he'd met me in Santiago a long time ago, though I don't remember. Word spread quickly that I'd arrived in Santiago. I was surprised.

着いた日から夜8時事務所とズーム（事務所の朝）。この夜ズーム生活はほぼ平日毎晩続く。だから終わってからワインを飲むことにした。物価は日本と変わらないがワインは1000円のテーブルワインも美味。こちらは冬。娘が編んでくれたセーターが活躍。 Since arriving, I've worked with the office on Zoom at 8pm (morning at the office). This Zoom night routine continues almost every weekday. So I decided to have a glass of wine after work. Prices of everything are the same as in Japan, but even a 1,000 yen of table wine is delicious.

ホテルから徒歩5分でカトリカ大建築学部がある。UCLAもそうだったけどカトリカ大も大学の周りは高級住宅地。

モダニズムには降って湧いたように見えてそうでも無い。ル・コルビジュエには新古典主義があり、丹下、篠原には日本の伝統がある。アラベナやスミルハンには何があるのか？インカの精緻な建築に繋がっているのか。今回の訪南米で見極めたいことはチリに限らず、パラグアイ、ウルグアイ、アルゼンチンなどの現代建築と過去とのつながりだ。残念ながら原稿に追われて予習できてない。でもそんなこと言ってられない。 Modernism may seem like it just came out of nowhere, but that's not the case. Le Corbusier had neoclassicism, and Tange and Shinohara had Japanese traditions. What is it about Aravena and Smilján? Is it connected to the exquisite architecture of the Incas? What I want to determine on this visit to South America is the connection between contemporary architecture and the past, not just in Chile, but also in Paraguay, Uruguay, Argentina, and other countries. Unfortunately, I've been so busy with my manuscript that I haven't had time to do any preparation. My manuscript for Japan is important, but on the plane I've renewed my resolve to spend time on things that can only be done here.

やっと東京を脱出して機中で一つのことに気づき愕然とする。 チリに行ったら15年間歩き回ったラテンアメリカ建築をまとめるなり深掘りするなりしたいと漠然と思っていたが具体化されてない。 出発間際まで原稿に追われ、考える余裕が無く、それで終わったかと言えば終わらず、チリで書き続けねばならない。時間の使い方としておかしなものだ。旅行に行ってホテルにこもって仕事するみたいだ。授業のためだけに、原稿のためにチリに行っているわけでは無い。 着いたらワイン🍷飲んで考えなきゃ。

日本最終日は焼き鳥が食べたくなり、期待せず行った近所の店が美味かった。配偶者は1人でこようかなと偉くお気に入り。ワインのチョイスがいいし肉がうまい。On my last day in Japan, I wanted to eat yakitori, so I went to a restaurant neighborhood without any expectations, but it was delicious. My spouse really liked it and said she would come alone. The wine selection was good and the meat was delicious.
