親友ディエゴにランチとコーヒーとついでにSIMカードも買ってもらった。写楽のリプロダクションあげたお礼だとか。最近彼はサングラスを外さない。久しぶりにハグした。あれこんなに背高い。My close friend Diego bought me lunch, coffee, and even a SIM card. It's said to be a thank you for giving Sharaku's reproduction. He hasn't taken off his sunglasses lately. I hugged him for the first time in a while. Is he so tall?

学部生のスタジオでは中間に2週間くらいのワークショップが挟まる。その全てのファイナルレビューと打ち上げ。費用は大学持ち。ワインだけだけど服装もグラスもきちんとしている。In the undergraduate studio, there is a workshop of about two weeks in the middle. All of these final reviews and launches. The cost is from university. It's just wine, but the clothes and glasses are neat.

大学に行くペドロデバルディビアと言う道に面白いプロジェクトを発見。説明書きを読むと、 Native Veredaは、157平方メートルの芝生を、水消費量の少ない在来植物種で置き換えることの提案。在来植物種が生態系サービスを 提供する能力を検証する。 このプロジェクトは、2020年の全国公共科学コンテストで受賞した提案の一部で植樹にはサンティアゴの他のコミューンの ボランティアが参加したとのこと。いいね。

今日は授業後大学のオフィスで仕事している。6畳くらいのオフィスだけど落ち着く。何時までいていいのかな？もう帰ろうかな？Today I'm working in my university office after class. It's an office that's about 6 tatami mats, but it's calming. How long can I stay? Shall I go home ?

2ヶ月の5単位セミナーは教科書をエイドリアン•フォーティーの言葉と建築にした。毎回学生に1チャプター読ませその言葉で建築を批評すると言うトレーニングをする。誰もが知る定番の本を翻訳しておくとこう言う時便利。先生たちの理解も得られやすい。The two-month five-credit seminar features Adrian Forty's words and buildings. Each time students are trained to read one chapter and criticize architecture using those words. It's useful to translate classic books that everyone knows. It is easy for me to have other teachers understand.

机の端っこにスペース作って夕食。今日はタコと玉ねぎ炒めて、胃が何故か痛いので例によってお粥卵とじ。I made a space at the edge of the desk and had dinner. Today I fry the octopus and onions, and for some reason my stomach hurts, so as usual, rice gruel with eggs.

パウラからもう一つ演習を頼まれた。9月末から２ヶ月で行う５単位の建築理論コース。１２人くらいに絞るから、徹底してライティングさせて欲しいという。させるのはいいが、させたら読まなければならない。それは結構しんどいだろうなあ。と思いつつ。一体どんなことを書けるのか興味深いので引き受けた。It's a two-month, five-credit course on architectural theory starting at the end of September. She said she'd narrow it down to about 12 students, so she wanted me to write thoroughly. It's fine to ask them to do it, but if they do, I'll have to read them. That's going to be pretty tough, I thought. But interested in what kind of things they will be able to write, I accepted.

大学裏の公園を少し登るとアンデスがよく見える。ついでに山に囲まれたサンチアゴ名物の淀んだ空気も。If you climb a little into the park behind the university, you can see the Andes clearly. Also, there is the stagnant atmosphere of Santiago's specialty, surrounded by mountains.
