I will be a visiting professor at the Universidad Católica de Santiago in Chile for four months from August to December. This is the alma mater of Aravena and Smiljan. 拙著『教養としての建築入門』の文章が今年も入試の国語の問題に使われた。大学入試と高校入試二つに使われ著作権の関係で問題が送られてきた。高校入試問題は答えが明らかである。他方大学入試問題は文章の意味を問う選択肢の差異がとても小さい。自分でもきちんと文章読み直さないと間違えそうである。The text of my book “Introduction to Architecture as a Liberal Arts” was used again this year for a Japanese language question in the entrance examinations. The questions were sent to me for copyright reasons. In the high school entrance exam, the answers are apparent. On the other hand, the university entrance exam questions ask about the meaning of the text, and the differences between the choices are minimal. If I do not reread the text properly, I am likely to make a mistake.
