いつから始たったのか覚えていないが、年末に研究室のOBOGが来て卒計、修士設計を批評する会が行われている。今年も今日15名の先輩が来て優しくアドバイス。昔はクリスマスのころ開催されて厳しい批評が多く、なかなか反映できづらく早めにポジティブなアドバイスをするようになった。I don't remember when it started, but at the end of the year, there is a meeting for alumni of the laboratory to come and critique their graduation plans and master's designs. 『建築を見る技術』という本を書いている。建築を類推的に見ることで今まで見えなかった建築を見てみようという本。料理、ファッション、人間、自然、アート、音楽、そして最後は広告。3/15日に晶文社から刊行予定。今朝初校が届いた。冬休みの宿題である。I have written a book called ``The Art of Viewing Architecture.'' 人は誰かと結ぶ関係の歴史を生きる。その関係にはそれを生み出す媒介項の存在がある。媒介項は関係した相手との関係が良好な場合はあまり振り替えられないが、破滅するとそのきっかけに思いを馳せる。その話を読みながらクライアントを媒介した人や組織や偶然を思い出す。加えて、なんで篠原一男に学び、日建に行き、配偶者が定まり、OFDAを作り、信州大学で教え、理科大に来たのかには全て媒介した人がいたことを改めて思い出す。People live the history of the relationships they form with others. In that relationship, there is a mediating term that creates it. The mediating term is not often changed when the relationship with the person involved is good, but when it falls apart, people think about the trigger. As I read the story, I remember the people, organizations, and coincidences that mediated the client. 今年も6回、建築家論を早稲田で講義。イントロは自律性と他律性の脱構築、第2回は関係性、坂本一成、第3回は間、伊東豊雄、第4回は間、長谷川逸子、第5回は社会性山本理顕、最後は物、長谷川豪、宇野友明を論じる。家から40分歩いて往復するといい運動になる。This year, I will be giving lectures on architect theory six times at Waseda University. 来秋バルセロナで篠原一男生誕100年の展覧会を企画している。国際交流基金の助成申請締め切りが12月3日。なんとか提出した。通りますように。 We are planning an exhibition to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Kazuo Shinohara's birth in Barcelona next fall. The Japan Foundation grant application deadline is December 3rd. We managed to submit it. I hope it passes.

思想とは生き方であり言葉は残り滓、生き様の裏付けがない言葉は空虚だとニーチェは言う。その残り滓を甘い知性のオブラートにくるんで書かれた本がなんと多いことかと著者は嘆く。僕の言葉は生き方になっているのか。実のない空虚と堕していないのかよくよく考えないと。 Nietzsche says that thought is a way of life, words are dregs, and words without the support of a way of life are empty. The author laments how many books have been written that wrap up the residue in the form of naive intellectual oblates. Have my words become a way of life? JIAマガジンの編集会議を久しぶりに対面で行った。来春から編集長を後任の方にお願いするので数ヶ月出ていただくことにした。来年で7年。やったインタビューは78回624ページ。この抜き刷りを作る予定。大事な資料である。 The editorial meeting for JIA Magazine was held face-to-face for the first time in a while. I will be asking my successor to serve as editor-in-chief starting next spring, so I have decided to ask them to take part in the meeting for a few months. Next year I will have worked for 7 years and interviewed 78 times 624 pages. I plan to make a booklet of this. This is an important material for me.
