北海道からアスパラガスをいただきました。A student of mine of Hokkaido sent me green asparagus.

旧富士銀行をコンバートしたホテルに泊まった。天井が高いのはかなりの付加価値だと再認識。I stayed at a hotel that was converted from the former Fuji Bank building. I was reminded that high ceilings are indeed a great added value.

函館みらい大学の柱の質料性と大きさは予想を超えていた。篠原一男の柱に通ずる。ファサードの正面性しかり。The quality and size of Hakodate Mirai University's pillars exceeded expectations. It leads to Shinohara Kazuo's pillar. The frontality of the façade also reminds me of Shinohara’s frontally.

『篠原一男のモダニズム』の原稿を書きあげてからもうすぐ一年たつがその間にかなり悩み書き直し、書き直し、やっと編集の川尻さんとこれでいけそうだねというところまできた。暗闇の中をずっと手探りで歩いていたら向こうに光が見えてきたという気持ちである。本を書いていてこレほどやめたいと思ったこともない。しかし主張のあるステートメントとしての文章とはかくあるべしということが実感として分かってきた。きっといい本に仕上がると思う。チリに行く前に光が見えて良かった。安堵している。It's been almost a year since I finished writing the manuscript for "Kazuo Shinohara's Modernism," and during that time, I agonized over it and rewrote it repeatedly until I finally reached a point where my editor, Kawajiri-san, and I felt that I could make it. I feel like I've been groping around in the dark for so long, and now I can see the light at the end. I've never wanted to give up on a book as much as I do now. But I've really come to understand that this is how writing should be as a statement with a strong point. I'm sure it will turn out to be a good book. I'm glad I saw the light before I left for Chile. I'm relieved.

チリカトリカ大学院のパウラにサンチアゴの住処探しはお任せしている（家賃は払うのだが）。送られてきたのが大学近くのAirbnb。なんだかすごい部屋だなと思ってよく見ると設計はスミルハンである。 I left it to Paula from the Pontificia Catholic University in Chile Graduate School to find a place for Santiago to live (I'll pay the rent though).
