これでも極力本を買わないように努力したが、貰い物も多く、加えて執筆のために持っていいった資料もあり帰りの荷造りには頭を悩ました。郵便で送ることも考えたが時間がかかるし、高いし、無くなる危険があるので自らの手で持ち帰ることに決めた。イクストラを払ってチェックインしてしまえば良かったのかもしれないが、微妙な線なので持ち込んだ、すると重すぎて取っ手がちぎれてダラスで涙を流している。 トランジットが長いのでこちらの諸先生と会話している。来年は通常の授業以外に結構いろんな場所で１週間単位のWSをしそうである。日本からも数名の先生、学生をお呼びしている。遠いから来るのは大変だしお金もかかるけど是非来てください。Even with all this, I tried my best not to buy books, but I received many gifts, plus I had materials to take with me for writing, so packing for the trip home was a headache. I considered sending them by mail, but it would take time, be expensive, and there was a risk of them getting lost, so I decided to carry them back myself. I probably should have just paid for the extras and checked them in, but it was a bit of a tricky balance, so I brought it with me. It was so heavy, the handle broke off, and I ended up in tears in Dallas. I have a long transit, so I've been talking with the professors here. Next year, in addition to my regular classes, I'll likely be holding week-long workshops in a variety of locations. I've invited several professors and students from Japan. It's far away, so it's difficult and expensive to come, but please come.
