カトリカ大学の建築学科で出版している建築雑誌ARQは年３回40年間出版され続けている。これ自体かなり驚きである。加えて2000年あたりからはバイリンガルとなった。日本の建築学科も見習いたい。毎回出版と同時にゲストを呼んでトークする。今日は僕がゲストでワイン飲みながらカジュアルなお話をした。120号はアメリカ（ラテンアメリカ）建築がソーシャルプロブレムを改善する様子を分析している。メキシコ、ブラジル、ベネゼエラ、アルゼンチン。 建築は社会を変える道具か美を作る器か、ラテンアメリカ建築のインフォーマリティ、などなど、いろいろ言いたいことを言わしていただいた。果たして通じたのかどうか。あまりお話をする時間がなく帰宅したが、数名僕の学生も聞いていたので来週聞いてみたい。 ARQ, an architectural magazine published by the Catholic University's Department of Architecture, has been published three times a year for 40 years. This in itself is quite amazing. Furthermore, it has been bilingual since around 2000. Japanese architecture departments should follow suit. Each issue coincides with a guest talk. Today, I was the guest and we had a casual chat over wine. Issue 120 analyzes how American (Latin American) architecture improves social problems. Mexico, Brazil, Venezuela, Argentina. I had the opportunity to say a lot of things, such as whether architecture is a tool for changing society or a vessel for creating beauty, the informality of Latin American architecture, and so on. I wonder if I was able to get my point across. We didn't have much time to talk before heading home, but several of my students were listening, so I'd like to hear from them next week.
