チリに来る前にスタジオを一緒にやる建築家の候補が二人いるけれどどちらがいいと聞かれた。マルセロは『私性の創造』という本を書いていると聞いたので、彼とやりたいと頼み、そうなった。今日彼からその本をいただきGoogleレンズで読んでいたがとても共感する。私性（intimidad)があるから公共性が鍛えられる。昨今公共性が私性を凌駕してしまいそうだが、そうなったらどちらも崩壊する。修道院の構造のなかにこの二つの共存を確認しながら私性を再構築しようというのがこの本の趣旨。坂本先生が行きすぎた社会性に警告を鳴らしていたが、全くその通りでこうしてここにもそれに共感する建築家がいるのはとても嬉しい。 Before coming to Chile, I was asked which of two architects I had in mind to work with in my studio. I heard that Marcelo had written a book called "The Creation of the Private," so I asked if I wanted to work with him, and that's what happened. He gave me the book today, and I was reading it on Google Lens, and it really resonated with me. It's the private (intimidad) that forges the public sphere. These days, it seems like the public sphere is about to surpass the private, but if that happens, both will collapse. The purpose of this book is to reconstruct the private sphere while confirming the coexistence of these two within the structure of a monastery. Professor Sakamoto warned against going too far with sociality, and he was absolutely right, so I'm very happy to see an architect here who shares his views.
